Römischer Ring
Execution of excavation and pipe construction works to build a test section.
The aim of this project was to study expansion paths and the general behaviour of plastic jacket piping in sand and RSS Flüssigboden liquid soil. A pipeline trench 45 m long was excavated for this purpose, in which a bypass made of DN 40 plastic jacket piping was laid. The temperature in the pipeline was regulated using built-in pumps and volume controllers. What are known as displacement transducers were used to measure the expansion path along the plastic jacket pipeline, thus allowing a conclusion to be drawn on static friction.
