110 kV power line in Niddastrasse
SWR GmbH carried out a construction project in Frankfurt’s very busy railway station district on behalf of public utility Netzdienste Rhein-Main, where two steel protection pipes were installed to insert a 110kV system for power supply. Different PE protective cable ducts for signal cables were also laid along the 1,200 m section.
The above-ground transport at Frankfurt’s main railway station was not the only special challenge the project presented. The Frankfurt “underworld” also had surprises in store for us that required a flair for improvisation and maximum concentration during excavation work.
